Customer Review: Great Product
I haven't worn anything other than NB's for a three or four years, and these continue to satisfy.
Customer Review: New Balance MX 608 CrossTraining Shoe
I am a power walker, 3 miles per day, seven days a week, in all kinds of weather. I need a shoe that is light weight, offers superior arch support and heel cushion, yet is durable and can take a beating. That's why my last 4 pair of cross training shoes have been New Balance MX608s. They are perfect for me.

From running barefoot to running in shoes that cost a small fortune. running sure has come a long way. Today there is such a wide range of shoes available, it takes mental gymnastics to decide which shoe would be right for you!

One of the most recent inventions is the cushioning system. It was found that foam, silicon, and air gel absorb shock. An even better product is ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA); a substance that has millions of tiny air bubbles that cushion and absorb shock. Some of these inventions were offshoots of the space research done to make clothing and footwear for astronauts!

It was in the last century that we saw so many changes in running shoes. In the beginning of the century, running shoes were simple rubber-soled plimsolls. Today they are air- cushioned, sometimes filled with gel capsules. So they look good, feel good and add up to better performance.

Research in running shoes forged ahead and the need for speed and comfort produced even better footwear. Three types of running styles were found. In the neutral style, the heels hit the ground, while the foot goes in a straight line as it moves forward. In the Pronation style, the heel hits the ground, while the foot moves to the inside as it goes forward. The Supernation style was a little different where the heel hits the ground and the outside of the foot moves forward. Shoes were made to fit these varied styles and athletes now had the option of having shoes custom-made.

To find the perfect shoe, your biomechanical needs should be studied. A wet test', is taken - that is, the shape of your foot on a dry floor or piece of paper. This would reveal whether your feet are flat, normal or highly arched. Based on a few more tests, the right shoes are found. This process has benefited athletes by helping in achieving better speeds, causing fewer foot injuries and longer career spans.

Over 100 years ago, J.W. Foster and Sons of England (now known as Reebok) were the first to introduce shoes specially meant for running with spikes in them. Its owner, Joseph William Foster wanted to make a shoe that would encourage the sport of running. In 1925, a German named Adolph Dassler made shoes with hand-forged spikes. It was so specialized, there were specific models for specific distances. The material was hi-tech and light. These shoes were worn by the leading runner of the time, Jesse Owens. Adolph Dasslers company later split into Adidas and Puma, both leading sports shoe manufacturers today.

The first running shoes, also called keds, were a result of the invention of vulcanized rubber. For the first time, people could wear shoes that they could actually play a sport in. They were light, comfortable and didnt make a sound when you walked. Thats how they got the name sneakers.

Customer Review: MASTERPIECE BY NEW BALANCE
I originally bought this sneaker in 1998 and loved it then. I just bought it for the second time last week. I'm kicking myself for not staying with this sneaker EVERY YEAR since 1998. I'm sure something on it has been updated/changed since then. But it seems exactly the same in styling, cushoning, comfort, etc. I've been suffering foot, ankle, & calf pain for about 1.5 yrs. A podiatrist friend told me to start with a website to find shoes that best accomodate my foot type. He thought my pain could be fixed by changing my running shoe. The website told me to step into water (covering both feet) then step onto layered paper towels to see my foot print. If the entire area between the heel and toes are wet, then I'd have flat feet. If there were no wetness btw toes & heels I'd have high arches. [theres different levels in between the two]. Thus, I found out I have VERY flat feet & have been using running shoes designed for high-arches. The website recommended about 7-8 different sneakers for me. Right at the top of the list were the NB_587 sneaker that I loved so much 10 years ago. Looks are always important in a shoe & the NB_587 not only do looks amazing but are VERY COMFORTABLE too! The rollbar & Abzorb technology really make this a must have for anyone with flat feet. I plan on purchasing 2-3 more, and storing them, in case New Balance decides to change the style on them. p.s. The New Balance 992 is also recommended for flat feet. But, that shoe has a little too much different blue color shades. The blue around the sole, side, & back are a different shade than the webbing across the toes. Looks great online but weird in person. If you like black sneakers I'd recommend those comfy shoes.
Customer Review: Great Shoe!
I have worn this model New Balance shoe for several years. I use prescription orthotics, and this is one of the few shoes I have found that accommodates them comfortably. In fact, they were recommended by my podiatrist. They are the most comfortable all around shoes I have found, and they hold up extremely well.

Finding the fashion accessory that complements a particular outfit depends largely on your personal style. That perfect fashion accessory may be waiting for you at your nearby mall or large retail store. But when looking for a unique fashion accessory its imperative that you think creatively.

Choosing The Fashion Accessory That Fits You

A fashion accessory can mean many different things to different people. For the shoe enthusiasts among us, no outfit is worth wearing without a stunning and complementary pair of shoes. There are certainly a bevy of beautiful shoes on the market today made by creative designers who know what looks good. But dont be afraid to check out vintage stores where you could easily find a pair of classic shoes reflective of that period in history. Pairing the contemporary with the vintage is a great way to create drama and interest.

However, when most people think of a fashion accessory they think of jewelry. Jewelry as a fashion accessory can complement any outfit and lend itself to casual clothing as well as eveningwear because of its versatility. Diamonds, crystal, silver, and gold the jewelry that you choose will define your look; nothing changes the look of an outfit more. For this reason, jewelry is by far the most influential fashion accessory.

Hit the local antique stores where you will find a nod to the vintage fashion accessory. Pair a modern pair of pants with a 1950s piece of jewelry or a contemporary evening dress with an elegant 1920s scarf. The possibilities are endless when it comes to the fashion accessory. With the addition of a few pieces you are able to infuse the outfit with your personal style and elevate your look to the next level.

When it comes to a beautiful outfit, nothing completes a look like a well-chosen fashion accessory. You may be wearing the perfect little black dress or the sleek and sophisticated pant suit but until you pair it with a fashion accessory it never quite becomes the full expression of which it is capable.
